Ex. 12:1-4, 11-14; Ps. 116:1, 10-17; Jn. 13:1-17, 31b-35
In 2003, I was recommended to help coordinate a prayer ministry for Bayshore. I spent much time in conversation with God seeking His will and guidance. I accepted the position with complete faith and confidence that God would give me guidance and wisdom for such a task. Though I was hesitant when I had to ask people to serve on the team, those people that God directed me to accepted the various positions with servant hearts. This was a confirmation to me that God was in control.
The prayer ministry was going well, people were praying for Bayshore around the clock, my Sunday school class was doing okay, my family was doing well, so you can imagine I was enjoying my spiritual journey.
Then, in 2004 a tragedy visited our family. Our oldest daughter Jean passed away at age 49. 24 hours later my sister-in-law passed away unexpectedly, also. God in His mercy kept me strong physically and spiritually while assuring me that my favorite Bible verse Philippians 4:13 could be depended on.
Being a Christian from a very young age, I can’t remember when I did not depend on God for all my needs and desires. The two events I have shared tested my faith but caused me to grow stronger spiritually.
God has always connected me with people that stood by me with encouragement and prayer. He has supplied me with the resources to encourage others through difficult times in their lives.
God gave me a husband and children that allowed me the freedom I needed to study and grow on my walk of faith with Him. I am so thankful for His presence that I experience daily.
