Many have asked how Bayshore can respond to those affect by Hurricanes Irma and Harvey. Bayshore is partnering with CBF Disaster Relief to minister to those in the state of Florida. Here are 3 ways you can help in the following ways:
Give – CBF has shared that the most critical need remains funding to help purchase and transport supplies that are being requested by partner churches who are on the front line for feeding, sheltering, and serving their communities. You can donate online now by clicking on this link.
Bayshore has been notified of many military families evacuated from Key West staying in the Tampa Bay area. Many of these are expectant mothers who left doctors and basic goods needed for their children. There is currently an effort to receive the following goods for these families: newborn diapers, baby wash, lotion, wipes, newborn sets including nail clippers, brushes, thermometers, diaper rash ointment, nursing pads. The plan is to place these good in diaper bags to give to displaced mothers. For more information, please contact Dina Dyson-Cersely at 804.385.2105
Volunteer – CBF is beginning to assemble teams of volunteers to assist hard hit areas to clean out or “muck” houses, distribute goods, and assist with other needs. Housing will be made available by CBF. If you would like to volunteer, please follow this link.
There are also Bayshore members and friends in our community needing assistance cleaning their lawns and making small repairs to their homes. If you are able to assist with this, please contact the church office at 813.253.3411.
Drive – Another need that exists is for volunteers with the capacity to tow CBF Florida’s disaster response trailers to our staging areas. One trailer is located in Pensacola and the other in Lakeland. If you’re able to assist with this, please text or call Ray Johnson at 305.321.2240. Transporting additional supplies to staging areas will also be an ongoing need.
