Bayshore Baptist Church
As a welcoming community of faith, Bayshore values diversity united by our shared faith in Jesus Christ.
We are ecumenical in outlook and value relationships across denominational lines.
We celebrate our Baptist heritage and are proud partners of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.
We believe in loving and serving God by loving and serving others. We work alongside various missions partners to make a difference in our community.
We believe faith is a journey and seek to be continually formed together by the Holy Spirit.
Interim Senior Pastor
Interim Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Scott Stearman, is thrilled to spend this season with Bayshore Baptist as the church prepares for its next chapter. Scott directs the International Advocacy Baptist Collaborative that seeks to amplify and coordinate the advocacy work of the global Baptist family at the United Nations and in WDC. At the UN he helps lead NGO committees on Human Rights and Religious Freedom. He is vice chair of the board of trustees for the Parliament of World Religions and writes regularly on the intersection of religion and international/cultural affairs. For over three decades, he served as a Baptist pastor. He served congregations in Athens, Greece, Paris, France, St. Louis, MO and New York City. His educational background includes theological degrees from Southwestern and Princeton Seminaries and a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Oklahoma.
Director of Children’s Ministry
Rachel has been involved with church music from an early age and is honored to be the choir director at Bayshore. Rachel and her husband Jason moved to Spring Hill, FL, in June of 2018, and found Bayshore while searching for a CBF church home. She has an undergraduate degree in Music Education from the University of Southern Mississippi and is pursuing a Master of Worship Studies degree from The Robert E. Webber Institute of Worship Studies. In her spare time, she enjoys crocheting, reading, gaming, and traveling with her husband Jason.
Susie comes to Tampa from Washington, DC, where she worked as a speechwriter and press liaison for several women’s groups and a Member of Congress. A graduate of The University of Georgia, Susie married Navy LT Terry Meier in 1997. After they started their family, Susie stayed at home and stayed active with her two boys and in the Capitol Hill community. In 2015, Susie and her family moved to Tampa. She enjoys traveling, baking, reading, and spending time with her family.
