Jesus: Liar, Lunatic, or Legit

Who was Jesus of Nazareth?  What did he teach?  Why does his life and death matter?  Was he really raised from the dead?

The Christian faith is all about Jesus, and the questions mentioned above are just some of the many asked by those inside and outside the church about his life.  Beginning Sunday, September 3rd, join us for an 8-week series as we take a closer look at the life of Jesus and decide for ourselves who he is to each of our lives.  This is another great opportunity to invite a friend to church or someone with questions about the Christian faith.

Sunday Evening Service begins September 10th.

Our first evening series will be called “Faithful Presence: Seeing and Being the Presence of God.”  We hope you will join us each week as we not only talk about our faith, but consider how to put it into practice.  Again, this is another chance to invite someone to see church in a new way.

Wednesday Nights at Bayshore

5:15–6:30  Community Meals

1st Wednesday of each month

Dinner is free and sponsored by Bayshore ministries, groups, and Sunday School classes.  No reservations necessary.

6:00-7:30  Shore Kids

Each week begins as a large group for a high-energy time of music, games and interactive family experiences. Children then move to different stations for small groups, hands-on mission projects, and games.

6:00-7:30  The Middle

A mid-week opportunity to catch up with all of our youth and join in practical, Bible-based discussions on spiritual growth. We also have many opportunities to help lead in Shore Kids programming.

6:30-7:30  Adult Classes

Reformation to Re-Formation – Alex will explore the events of the Protestant Reformation and the many Christian denominations that have emerged as a result.  This class will compare the differences and similarities of the major denominations and consider how the Christian Church might be in an era of being “re-formed” together.

The study of Leviticus – Dig deeply with Bill Scarle and uncover what this third book of the Old Testament has to teach us. Leviticus’ purpose is to understand what God desires in order to produce a people who are holy before a holy God.

Free Parenting Classes (beginning 10/4) – Champions For Children will offer free classes called P3 (Positive Parenting Partnership).  These evidence based parent education classes are open to those who want to establish a better relationship with their child, teach their child something new, or “unteach” problematic behaviors.

Missions Need

Bayshore is partnering with Champions for Children nonprofit to provide a community diaper bank.  Many families cut food and childcare costs to buy diapers and 22% of children under five live in poverty in the US.  Drop off your diaper donations in the lobby. Contact Liz Kennedy at for more information.

Small Batch Spirituality

Every second and fourth Thursday at 7 pm, Bayshore will host an off-campus gathering for young adults we call Small Batch Spirituality.  We’ll meet up at 4 Rivers for a time of fellowship and casual conversations on life and faith. Contact Alex or Nick with any questions you might have!

Worship at Hyde Park ALF

While we have many friends from Hyde Park ALF who worship and mingle with us on Wednesdays and Sundays, there are some people who simply aren’t mobile enough to leave the property.  Join a group of Bayshore family who are leading worship onsite at the ALF on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm.   Meet in the dining room at 3011 W. DeLeon Street, only ½ mile from Bayshore.  Questions, contact Jim Neill.

First Nesters Ministry needs you!

If you like to or want to learn how to refurbish “stuff” to be used to give young adults in need their first homes, join us. Every Wednesday a team of people will meet from 6:30 – 7:30pm in the First Nesters Studio on the 2nd floor. Childcare is provided. Contact Donna Heider for info.

The Barnabas Ministry

Barnabas Ministry

Do you ever go to your mailbox only to be disappointed by what was in it?  Bills, junk mail, and unwanted political propaganda make for a sad mailbox. The Barnabas Ministry is an opportunity to fill our college students’ mailboxes with notes of encouragement.  Bayshore is looking for “Barnabases” to be paired with our college students. If you are interested in this ministry of encouragement, please contact Dina Marshall.
