Summer Sermon Series

Acts of the Spirit (May 13-June 10)

The book of Acts is the story of the very first Church as they took the gospel of Jesus Christ to their known world and grew as a community of faith.  Acts documents two major events on the church calendar which we will celebrate in weeks to come, the ascension of Jesus into heaven on May 13th, and the Day of Pentecost on May 20th.  During this time, we will begin a 5-week survey on the book of Acts, looking at various stories of how God used these early Christians to change the world.  We’ll pay close attention to stories of welcome, transformation, and service, as we consider how God is calling us to be a welcoming, transforming, and serving community of faith at Bayshore.

Ephesians: The Power and Purpose of the Church (June 17-July 29)

Through powerful poetry and inspirational proclamations, the Apostle’s Paul’s letter to the Ephesians calls all Christians to celebrate the vision of the universal Church.  Ephesians reminds us that God’s plan for His church, regardless of denomination or location, is that of a unified community, bringing together Jews and Gentiles, and reconciling all people to one another.  Such a beautiful unity is only possible when we understand the spiritual strength that has been given to us by Jesus’ death and resurrection as individuals which is made stronger when we come together as his body.  The Letter to the Ephesians challenges us to live boldly as those equipped to do amazing things as God’s people.

James: The Works of Faith (August 5 – September 2)

James was one of the first Christian leaders of the church in Jerusalem.  A disciple and brother of Jesus, James understanding of what it meant to follow Jesus was that of faith in action.  After all, it was James who famously wrote, “faith without works is dead (2:17).”  Are we saved by grace through faith?  Of course!  Must we continue to work out that faith?  You better believe it!  The Letter of James offers practical moral instruction for how Christians are to live their lives, even after they have experienced the forgiveness of their sins.  According to James, the way of Jesus is a courageous faith which helps us cope with the difficulties of life, grow into the best versions of ourselves, and become people known for the love we show to others.

Wednesday Nights at Bayshore

Wednesday night activities are on summer break! Our fall kick-off will be on September 5.

Worship at Hyde Park ALF

While we have many friends from Hyde Park ALF who worship and mingle with us on Wednesdays and Sundays, there are some people who simply aren’t mobile enough to leave the property.  Join a group of Bayshore family who are leading worship onsite at the ALF on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm.   Meet in the dining room at 3011 W. DeLeon Street, only ½ mile from Bayshore.  Questions, contact Jim Neill.

First Nesters Ministry needs you!

If you like to or want to learn how to refurbish “stuff” to be used to give young adults in need their first homes, join us. Every Wednesday a team of people will meet from 6:30 – 7:30pm in the First Nesters Studio on the 2nd floor. Childcare is provided.

The Barnabas Ministry

Barnabas Ministry

Do you ever go to your mailbox only to be disappointed by what was in it?  Bills, junk mail, and unwanted political propaganda make for a sad mailbox. The Barnabas Ministry is an opportunity to fill our college students’ mailboxes with notes of encouragement.  Bayshore is looking for “Barnabases” to be paired with our college students. If you are interested in this ministry of encouragement, please contact Dina Marshall.

Bayshore Baptist Book Club
